Neutral Zone is a diverse, youth-driven arts and leadership center. The Program Coordinator will assist with Future Corps, an innovative and developing program to provide a 10-year transformation to adulthood from 14-24 years old. This position will also work directly with NZ teens in our programs and partner agencies to build teen leadership. Additionally, this position will support the case management of participants for their onboarding paperwork with Michigan Works! Southeast, resource support, and ongoing coaching.
Future Corps Program (60% of time):
Oversee and support the facilitation of the Future Corps Program high school program that works in partnership with other youth serving organizations at the center weekly for career and college exploration and activities such as college visits, career days, extended work experiences.
Outreach, assess, and onboard new youth to the Future Corps program.
Engage with partnerships for weekly planning and co-facilitation of the high school youth program on site at Neutral Zone and several days a week offsite at schools and community spaces.
Support and maintain case notes on approximately 15-30 youth individually through ongoing coaching to ensure supportive resources and ongoing success throughout the program.
Outreach and connect employment opportunities that include job descriptions, placements, monitoring and benchmarking.
Support the overall evaluation and documentation of the Future Corps program participants as part of the Michigan Works! tracking system aligned with Workforce Opportunity and Innovation Act funds that includes attending training, facilitating the eligibility and enrollment process, and maintaining the OSMIS data entry for the program participants, supporting the annual audit process for WIOA funding.
Programs General (40% of time):
Work with program staff to support overall program events and opportunities across the center.
Provide support in the After School Drop-In Program to provide a safe space, monthly dinners, and meaningful community building.
Work collaboratively with NZ program staff to host special outreach, engagement, and recognition events to support the overall NZ program opportunities.
Work collaboratively with NZ program staff to support summer programming.
Work once a week with the “After Hours” 18-24 program
Provide support to the Program Director as needed (when time is available).
