Homeless Youth Education Coordinator

Position Summary:
The Homeless Youth Education Coordinator is responsible to coordinate the daily operations and activities of the Education Project (McKinney-Vento services to children and youth experiencing homelessness), as well as educating youth and families about services available to them through Ozone House and partner providers. This position works closely with school district homeless liaisons, building allies to help homeless students succeed by providing transportation, basic needs assistance, school supplies, referrals to local services, and other needed resources.  In addition, the Homeless Youth Education Coordinator educates schools and other community stakeholders about what services are available to students and families via in-person presentations and an electronic newsletter and partners with volunteers, interns, educators and service providers to ensure students have access to services.

The Homeless Youth Education Coordinator is part of the Education, Outreach and Welcoming (EOW) Team which is responsible for designing and carrying out the agency’s overall outreach efforts across the community including schools, community-based organizations, and all other places that youth congregate. This role will work with the Outreach Manager to cover outreach opportunities throughout the community. They will also be responsible for participating in coverage at the drop-in center one afternoon a week.
