Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Student Mental Health Clinician will work with school personnel in order to meet the needs of the
student(s) being referred from each school. The Clinician will be a member of the school team and will
provide therapy and casework in addition to assisting with the development and implementation of an
appropriate coordinated plan of care to support general education students within the Redford Union
School District.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
 Serve as the Primary Clinician to develop and implement a person-centered plan of care that
focuses on addressing the needs of the student(s).
 Develop long and short-term goals that are measurable and outcome based.
 Provide complete and comprehensive evidenced based therapy services to each student on
assigned caseload based on individual student needs and necessity/level of care.
 Document all student contact(s) related to case management services, both attempted and
completed.
 Complete plan of care reviews every 6 weeks following initial introduction to services.
 Complete a biopsychosocial assessment on each student.
 Provide interventions, safety planning, and/or referrals for student(s) who are in crisis situations.
 Establish effective therapeutic bonds with student(s) assigned to caseload.
 Ensure that a transition or discharge plan is fully communicated to all involved parties upon
discharge.
 Work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
 Work with student(s) and parent(s) to obtain any recommended community-based assistance or
service referrals that may be necessary.
 Complete all documentation as required within proper time frames.
 Collect all necessary data as requested by the Coordinator of Social Emotional Learning.
 Contribute pertinent clinical information at regular case conference meetings.
 Develop and provide training to school personnel when required.
 Attend training(s) when required.
 Adequately prepare for and participate in bi-monthly individual and group supervision per
licensure requirements, if applicable.
 Keep abreast of all pertinent federal, state and District protocols, laws, and policies as they
presently exist and as they change or are modified.
 Other duties as assigned.
