Mental Health Therapist

Job Description:

As a Mental Health Therapist, you will be responsible for providing direct support and counseling to individuals experiencing mental health challenges. At this time, the primary diagnoses we specialize in are:  depression, anxiety,  trauma, borderline personality disorder, ADHD, bipolar, and substance use related conditions.

Your duties will include:

- Conducting individual therapy sessions with clients
- Facilitating group therapy sessions to promote peer support and skill-building
- Assessing client needs and developing personalized treatment plans
- Utilizing evidence-based therapeutic techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing
- Providing education and resources to clients and their families
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, such as psychiatrists and social workers, to coordinate care
- Maintaining accurate and confidential medical records and coding for billing purposes

Skills

To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills:

- Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology and its impact on mental health treatment
- Proficiency in conducting individual and group therapy sessions
- Familiarity with medical records management and coding procedures
- Ability to provide counseling for individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, mood disorders, and substance use 
- Experience in utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy techniques to address mental health issues
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Empathy and compassion for individuals facing mental health challenges

Experience/Requirements:

Master's degree in Social Work (LLMSW/LMSW)

- Licensed in the State of Michigan

-Specialization or in pursuit of additional training for specific diagnoses/modalities

Job Type: Contract

Salary: $55.00 - $75 per hour or 60/40 split

Expected hours: 5 – 30 per week
