"Chipper" Acknowledgements

U-M-SSW: Chipper Acknowledgements University of Michigan School of Social Work

This is the third iteration of Chipper. Chipper first appeared in 1992 as a laser disc program and then later as a web based program in 1999. Many different folks worked on these early versions. In regard to this new CD-ROM version of Chipper, I would like to acknowledge the financial support of the University of Michigan, School of Social Work. I also want to acknowledge the extensive programming efforts of Chassy (Charles Cleland) in the technology office here in the School of Social Work. Chassy was able to take the web based version of Chipper that ran much too slowly to be effective, and reconfigure the entire program so it would run in RealPlayer. Though RealPlayer is not without its problems, this conversion has resulted in a much more user friendly version. I also want to acknowledge Dana Eisenberg, MSW, who while completing her MSW here at Michigan, also worked as my Research Associate. Dana performed much of the "scut work" of moving the video from laser disc to RealMedia™ files. She also embellished the PowerPoint™ slides in the tutorial and inserted herself into the interactive video as the "angry supervisor." I also want to acknowledge my present Research Associate, Christopher Atkins, BSW, who is also completing his MSW here at Michigan. Chris has been working on the next interactive program, and also has had the nit picking task of finding the minor clitches and coordinating the various pieces in this version of Chipper. All three of these folks, Chassy, Dana, and Chris, have been instrumental in the production of this version of Chipper, and I am grateful for their efforts. (April 13, 2001)
