FAC Clinical Treatment Services
- Telephone referral by client or Child Welfare Agency to the clinic administrator
- Telephone (734) 998-9703 (Mary B. Ortega, MSW, ACSW)
- Initial intake information is collected.
- The FAC Administrative Team (Dr. Kathleen Coulborn Faller, Mary B. Ortega, MSW, ACSW, Susan Smith, MSW, and Margaret Erickson, MSW) decides if it is an appropriate referral.
- If not, an alterative referral is provided.
- If so, members of the FAC clinical team are assigned to the client system.
- The treatment team consists of MSW graduate students and a licensed primary supervisor.
- DHS contracted cases submit a treatment contract to FAC.
- A member of the clinical team contacts the client to set up an initial consultation meeting.
- Intake information is completed and collected from the client. This includes consent to treatment, financial information, and clinical measures.
- A sliding scale fee is assessed based on the financial information provided by the client unless it is a DHS-contracted case.
- A regular weekly appointment time is determined.
- Services offered include:
- Individual treatment for children with abuse issues
- Parent guidance related to maltreatment issues
- Family-focused treatment of families with child maltreatment issues
- Group treatment for non-offending parents of children who have been abused
- Group treatment for adolescents who have been sexually abused
- Treatment services are offered in the office and on an outreach basis, depending upon the type of service.
- Sessions may be videotaped and audiotaped to ensure quality care.
- Treatment services are determined on a case-by-case basis and tailored to meet each client’s unique needs and situation.
- Treatment approaches offered are evidence-based and/or empirically supported.
