Prospective Students

The students of the U-M SSW comprise one of the strongest assets of our school. Our students come from all over the United States and the world to form a diverse, supportive, and open learning community. We recognize that a quality education, alone, is not enough, and we are committed to involving the most diverse range of students and faculty possible in our mission to effect social change. By bringing substantial academic preparation, a wealth of work experience, and strong commitment to the mission of social work, our students come prepared to challenge each other and the faculty to excellence.

Students complement their scholastic experience with participation in several organizations, such as the Social Work Student Union, Association of Black Social Work Students (ABSWS), Christian Social Work Organization, Creating Change, Global Social Work, Latina/o Social Work Organization, Sigma Phi Omega (SPO), Feminist Toolshed, Organization of Jewish Social Workers, Men in Social Work, Middle Eastern Student Organization, Non-Traditional Student Network, Rainbow Network, Social Welfare Action Alliance (SWAA), SSW Disaster Response Group (SSWDRG) and University Women Against Rape.
