Agencies Interested in PhD student volunteers. These volunteer activities will count as post-MSW social work practice experience. The scope of what you would be doing as a post-MSW would be a discussion you would have to have with the individual agency since these will all be different. You would also need to work out extent of supervision with the individual organization.

A workshop on MSW Licensure for PhD students will be held on Friday, November 14th from 12-1:30pm in room 1804 SSWB. Michelle Woods, from Social Work Career Services will give a presentation tailored toward Ph.D. students. She will focus on Michigan Licensure, but can also answer questions about other states, and perhaps outside the U.S.

Mary Malcomson Raphael Fellowship

The Center for the Education of Women has announced the competition for the 2009-2010 Mary Malcomsom Raphael Fellowship for graduate women students in a humanities or social science field of LSA.

Candidates must be nominated by their department by February 6, 2009.
