Clarice Ullman Freud Fellowship
The Clarice Ullman Freud Fellowship was made possible by a gift from Professor Clarice Ullman Freud. Professor Freud was the director of field instruction while on faculty at the University of Michigan School of Social Work. The Freud Fellowship in Children and Families was developed to support research to help students integrate theory and practice in field instruction. Selection is based on demonstrated, outstanding potential for professional practice. Determination of awards is based on an evaluation of all previous academic work, recommendations, human services employment experience, the applicant's written supplementary statement, and other application documents.
Clarice Ullman Freud Individual Research Scholarship
This fund provides a stipend to assist a student to integrate theory and practice, to improve existing procedures and develop new linkages between the SSW and organizations providing practice skill instruction for students, and to provide means to enable prospective and current field instructors to extend and deepen their knowledge and skill in field instruction methodology.
Bruce Alan Schaffer Memorial Award
The Bruce Alan Schaffer Memorial Award was made possible by gifts from Bruce's parents, Arnold and Miriam Schaffer, and the gifts of friends and family. An endowment was established to fund an internship in pediatric oncology at Hurley Medical Center in Flint, Michigan. Selection is based on demonstrated, outstanding potential for professional practice. Determination of awards is based on an evaluation of all previous academic work, recommendations, human services employment experience, the applicant's written supplementary statement, and other application documents.
