| Description: |
This session will address poverty and policy from domestic and international perspectives. In addition, it will consider alternative ways for addressing social policy, as well as the ever-changing social work roles as they pertain to the reduction of poverty.
Presenter: Mary Jo Bane is the Thornton Bradshaw Professor of Public Policy and Management, Academic Dean, and Chair of the Management, Leadership, and Decision Sciences (MLD) area at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She teaches and does research in the areas of public management, poverty, welfare and social policy, and is the author of a number of books and articles on poverty, welfare, families, and the role of churches in civic life.
This program has been approved for 1.5 continuing education hours by the Michigan Social Work Continuing Education Collaborative. If you will be requesting CEUs for this lecture the fee is $30.00.
