Job Description: Seeking a part-time project coordinator to manage the Partnership's efforts to assist new Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) programs at farmers markets across Michigan. Coordinator will provide support to the Partnership in meeting three objectives (1) to develop new EBT programs at Michigan farmers markets to support the use of EBT for federal nutrition programs, (2) to sustain EBT programs at Michigan farmers markets through support and education, and (3) to facilitate and maintain Partnership activities. Position Duties: 1. Attend the United States Department of Agriculture Farmers Market Promotion Program orientation training on November 18-19, 2009 in Alexandria, VA. Travel, accomodations and a per diem will be provided; 2. Participate and eventually facilitate Partnership meetings and write meeting summaries; 3. Manage the application, interview, and contract process for new EBT programs at farmers markets; 4. Develop a mentor market manager program to assist with new EBT programs at markets; 5. Assist with organizing educational programs for market managers and vendors; 6. Coordinate EBT technology purchases and other related expenses; 7. Promote EBT programs at farmers markets through consumer outreach campaign, as well as the work fo the Partnership; 8. Participate in expanding the Partnership and recruiting new members; 9. Organize year-end gathering to present data and effectiveness of the Partnership and project; 10. Write and coordinate progress reports and final reports as necessary to meet the grant requirements outlined by the United States Department of Agriculture.
Qualifications: 1. Strong organizational skills, 2. strong written and verbal skills, 3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access), 4. Ability to work independently and collaboratively to meet goals, 5. Reliable transportation for travel to training sessions and farmers markets as necessary, 6. Familiarity with EBT technology and working with Third Party Processors preferred, 7. Familiarity with EBT (SNAP/Bridge Cards) at farmers markets preferred, 8. Prior experience in developing promotional and outreach materials preferred, 9. Demonstrated ability to work with a wide variety of stakeholders and interests, 10. The ideal candidate will have an interest in food access or agriculture issues, as well as experience related to farmers markets.

Job Description: CLEARCorps/Detroit is a lead poisoning prevention program working to protect Metro Detroit children from lead poisoning. CLEARCorps offers a wide variety of services including outreach and community education, work in homes and with families, policy and advocacy work, and training. Lead poisoning causes lifelong learning and behavioral deficits in young children and is a crucial environmental health issue for Detroit children. Identify social and emotional needs of families through direct contact, teacher reports, and child observations and provide support through referrals. Establish and maintain a relationship with contracted Mental Health Consultant to coordinate referrals, classroom and individual observations in a timely manner. Respond to and work with external partners, including representatives from CFSS (Chicago Department of Family Support Services), CPS (Chicago Public Schools), and NAEYC (National Association for Education of Young Children), and other licensing representatives as needed. Attend parent committee meetings and provide translation for Spanish speaking parents. Create and update a Community Resource Directory and serve as the resource person for families to facilitate access to social services within the community. Maintain and manage all children's files and enters data into web-based tracking system.
