Kathleen Wade holds a dual role as the assistant dean for hospital social work at the School of Social Work and director for social work and family centered care at the University of Michigan Health System. She is also an assistant research professor at the School of Social Work and teaches two MSW courses: "Death, Grief, and Loss" and "Direct Practice, Supervision, and Management." The majority of Dr. Wade's career has focused on leadership roles in tertiary health care. Her early work involved developing and implementing an AIDS Center at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York City. Since 1989, she has worked in large academic health centers in New York and Michigan. She serves on several state and national boards and is on the editorial board for the journal Social Work in Health Care. She has co-authored numerous articles and presented nationally and internationally on various topics.
